I don’t like creation stories and I don’t like stories within others. The former are almost always also the latter, so I dislike them doubly much. Creation stories are invariably useful in expanding the story at hand, and in most cases the latter is just the author sock puppeting one of their characters.
But I do find these stories enjoyable standalone sometimes, and I do wonder at the author’s intentions when they make them—especially creation stories.
